Description of Invention

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) are a type of wireless communication network specifically designed for vehicular environments across varying traffic conditions. This project focuses on analyzing the performance of the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol, which is designed for efficient routing in wireless networks, under different VANET scenarios. The simulation tools Network Simulator (NS-3) and Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) are employed to evaluate OLSR’s performance across diverse environments. The results indicate that OLSR performs exceptionally well in low-density highway scenarios. However, in city environments, the protocol’s performance metrics show a significant decrease compared to the highway scenarios.
