Description of Invention

Cervical cancer rated third most common cancer in Malaysia. It is preventable via screening test and vaccines. Somehow, lack of awareness became the refusal factor. Potential barriers must be identified, hence, an HBM framework was proposed with five independent variables (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, health motivation, perceived benefits and perceived barriers) and a mediator (HPV knowledge). This study conducted pilot study (40), pretest (118), posttest (118) among participants in Malaysia. This study also developed Cervica, a knowledge-hub to enable women to learn more about cervical cancer. The findings contribute greatly towards nation’s effort in increasing uptake rate of HPV services.
