Description of Invention

In contemporary environments, ensuring safety from potential hazards is crucial for both residential and industrial applications. This project presents an innovative IoT-based Hazard Detection and Alert System utilizing NodeMCU, a popular ESP8266 microcontroller with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, along with various sensors to monitor hazardous conditions. The system integrates multiple sensors, including smoke detectors, gas sensors, water leak sensors, and environmental monitors, to provide real-time hazard detection. The NodeMCU collects data from these sensors, processes it, and assesses whether any hazard levels exceed predefined thresholds. Upon detecting a potential hazard, the system triggers both local alerts, such as buzzers or LEDs, and remote notifications via internet- based channels like email or messaging apps. The integration of a user-friendly web dashboard or mobile app further allows users to monitor sensor data and receive alerts from anywhere, enhancing situational awareness and timely response. This system leverages the IoT paradigm to improve safety management, offering a scalable and customizable solution adaptable to various applications. The implementation of this hazard detection system not only demonstrates the practical use of IoT technology but also provides a foundation for further advancements in automated safety monitoring and response system.
