Description of Invention

Water surface wave analysis is vital in early warning systems because the changes in wave properties serve as useful indicators. Different activities that fluctuate the water surface cause different water surface wave patterns and parameters. Direction is critical to identify the wave source, which can be used to locate the activities. Extraction and transformation are necessary to acquire higher quality wave parameters to classify different activities. Data extraction and transformation procedures that used to identify activities are introduced and Principal component analysis (PCA) is also implemented for the detection on the direction of the water surface waves.
