Description of Invention

This study investigates the impact of graphene and silicon dioxide (SiO2) on the tribological properties of aluminium-based friction materials via powder metallurgy preparation. The tribological tests resulted that adding 1 wt% of GNP and 4% of SiO2 reduces friction coefficient with reasonable wear rate. Microstructure analysis revealed uniform dispersion of fillers, abrasives and binders within the aluminium matrix, contributing to a reduction in friction coefficient. Finding suggest that more in depth research needed to achieve more durable and effective friction material.
