Description of Invention
The successful implementation of Malaysia's National Digital Identity Initiative (NDII) is contingent upon the widespread digital literacy of its population. Despite the initiative's potential to streamline access to services, enhance security, and foster inclusivity, a significant challenge persists in ensuring that all Malaysians, particularly older adults and those with limited technological proficiency, can effectively utilize and benefit from the new digital identity system. However, the problem lies in bridging the digital literacy gap to ensure that all segments of the Malaysian population are equipped to navigate and benefit from the National Digital Identity Initiative. Addressing these challenges is critical for achieving the initiative’s goals of efficiency, security, and inclusivity, and for ensuring that the digital transformation fosters equitable access and participation for all Malaysians. Thus, studying the challenges in the implementation of Malaysia’s National Digital Identity Initiative (NDII) is crucial for several reasons, each of which impacts the effectiveness, inclusivity, and overall success of the initiative. This study suggest proposals in overcoming the challenges of bad implementation of Malaysia’s National Digital Identity Initiative requires a multifaceted approach that includes enhancing digital literacy, improving security and privacy, addressing accessibility issues, improving user experience, fostering collaboration and innovation, and informing policy and strategic planning. By addressing these areas comprehensively, the NDII can achieve its goals of efficiency, security, and inclusivity, ultimately benefiting all Malaysians.
