The digital literacy generational gap, especially among older adults, is a pressing issue with multifaceted implications. As technology evolves rapidly, many older individuals find themselves struggling to keep pace with digital advancements, which can lead to a range of challenges and vulnerabilities. The research addresses the problem of the digital literacy generational gap, targeting older adults who struggle to integrate the digital world and are unaware of the dangers of the online environment & explored reasons for the problems if the elderly are not ready for the National Digital Identity Initiative in Malaysia and recommended solution to enhance the readiness. The readiness of the elderly for Malaysia’s National Digital Identity Initiative is a critical factor for its success. By addressing challenges related to digital literacy, accessibility, security, and support, and by implementing user-centric design and inclusive strategies, Malaysia can ensure that older adults are effectively integrated into the digital ecosystem. Understanding and addressing these readiness factors will not only enhance the effectiveness of the NDII but also contribute to a more inclusive and equitable digital future for all Malaysians.
