Description of Invention

This study aims to investigate the perceptions of Multimedia University (MMU) students towards prisoners. The research examines the attitudes, beliefs, and opinions held by students regarding prisoners. The data were collected from a sample of 96 MMU students from various faculties at the Melaka Campus. Three factors are identified to investigate their acceptance toward prisoners: Stigma, prejudice and social responsibility. This study provides evidence that youth are significantly influenced by their own perceptions and beliefs about what it means to have a relationship with a prisoner.
