Description of Invention

The increased use of robots in various fields raises safety concerns due to potential collision. This project presents an ultrasonic sensor array for obstacle detection and integrated to a Wi-Fi-controlled mobile robot. This system uses an Arduino Mega 2560 to process data from 8 HC-SR04P ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection and motor control. The ESP32-CAM hosts the GUI web server for Wi-Fi controller and live camera viewing. Obstacle detection testing in varied environments showed 100% accuracy and over 70% efficiency for most obstacles. However, environmental temperature variations, small surfaces, and sound-absorbing materials can impact the measurement results, thus reducing efficiency.
