Description of Invention

The driver drowsiness and alcohol detection system is a solution for enhancing road safety by monitoring crucial driver conditions. Using an Infrared Pi Camera Module and the Haar cascade algorithm, the system assesses the driver’s face, eyes, and mouth for signs of drowsiness, promptly alerting the driver to reduce the risk of fatigue-induced accidents. The technology, through continuous facial feature analysis, detects indicators like drooping eyelids or yawns. The system also incorporates an MQ-3 alcohol sensor to measure real-time alcohol concentration in the driver’s breath. If the concentration exceeds a predetermined threshold, the system issues a warning, promoting responsible driving behaviour. By merging infrared imaging, machine learning, and the alcohol sensor, this system provides an efficient and reliable solution to identify critical driver conditions.
