Description of Invention

The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have significantly impacted various domains, including education. This study explores the perceptions and attitudes of students towards the use of AI tools in their academic activities, focusing on aspects such as perceived usefulness, ease of use, security and privacy, and both positive and negative attitudes towards AI. By employing Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and General Attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS), this research aims to understand the factors influencing students' behavioral intentions and actual use of AI tools. Data was collected through a structured survey administered to students at Multimedia University Malaysia, analyzing their experiences and opinions on AI tools like ChatGPT, Quillbot, Grammarly, and Perplexity. The findings indicate a high level of engagement with AI tools among students, driven by perceived benefits in academic performance and efficiency. However, concerns regarding security, privacy, and potential negative impacts on critical thinking were also highlighted. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating AI tools in education responsibly, ensuring ethical usage while leveraging their potential to enhance learning outcomes.
