Description of Invention
In the context of 5G-New Radio (NR)/4G-Long Term Evolution (LTE) heterogenous networks (HetNet), a novel user-greedy algorithm named the HetNet Extended Component Carrier Selection (HECCS) is proposed to assess the most ideal combination of aggregated component carriers (CC) and assign them to the user. Unlike traditional greedy approaches, HECCS focuses on satisfying individual user needs and conserves the remaining bandwidth for future users rather than blindly allocating the maximum possible throughput for the users. The superiority of this algorithm is evaluated using average user throughput, Jain’s fairness, and bandwidth utilization, both in 4G and 5G.
