Description of Invention
This study explores how cognitive dissonance from AI tool use affects students' behavior. By analyzing 62 students at a private university, two themes emerge: seeking help dissonance and over-reliance dissonance. These issues stem from personality traits like procrastination and pressure to excel academically. Despite concerns about integrity and accuracy, students feel they lack adequate support when using AI tools. A human-like assistant integrated into writing and presentation software could provide guidance and warnings, acting like a tutor to help students use AI responsibly for academic work.
