Description of Invention

The purpose of this research is to examine the key factors that contribute to the sustainability of the petrol subsidy program in Malaysia post COVID-19 pandemic. Petrol subsidy is one of the main initiatives of the Malaysian Government in reducing the living cost of B40 and M40 families which suffered from poverty due to COVID-19 pandemic. This research adopts a quantitative research approach. A total of 150 questionnaires were disseminated to Malaysian B40 and M40 households. This research utilized cross-sectional design to test hypotheses that contribute to the sustainability of the petrol subsidy program in Malaysia post COVID-19 pandemic. This research is the pioneer research in Malaysia that provides comprehensive information and valuable initiatives in exploring sustainable petrol subsidy schemes, leading to a significant influence in the household income and living standard of Malaysian B40 and M40 families. It provides unique contributions in helping Malaysia government to effectively frame their subsidy initiative towards creating and retaining a greater value to the household in need post COVID-19 pandemic.
