Description of Invention

The present study was systematically designed to discover the potential of macroalgae carrageenan, Eucheuma denticulatum extracts (EDEs) for L-lactic acid production and provide a novel notion for carrageenan application. Moreover, this research's microwave-assisted hydrolysis (MAH) technique provides an alternative to enhance the sugar recovery from EDEs by rapid internal heating in a time-effective way. Furthermore, different nutrient supplements and lactic acid bacteria were implemented to strengthen the L-lactic acid production from the hydrolysates produced from the hydrolysis stage.
