Description of Invention

The current design of crutches still poses difficulties for users to use effectively. Further i mprovements can be made based on ergonomic and user-friendly concepts. The collection of data was done through an online survey to study the problem of using the crutch. A selected design to install a lockable gas spring and base support on the crutch. Stress analysis was done on the leg platform and showed that all analyses were in the safety factor range. The post-survey showed an increased percentage of satisfaction with the new features compared to the current crutches design, with 39% of the surveyors satisfied with the use of a lockable gas spring as height adjustment while 33% of the surveyors were satisfied with the use of a leg platform to better support the user and reducing the stress applied to the leg when walking on the stairs. The results proved that more improvements can still be done to increase the innovaticeness of the crutches. Project cost management was also done to better manage the product cost.
