Description of Invention

The purpose of this project is to design and developed a gyro-stabilised motorcycle headlight system to improve visibility when cornering at night. Motorcycle without such system tends to have dark spots or region, this occur because the cutoff region of the headlight lean together with the motorcycle. With this system, with the help of a gyroscope and servo will counter react the lean angle of the motorcycle to keep the headlight stable at all time when the biker is leaning into a corner. The item used to make this project can be bought through online stores such as Shopee, Lazada or Aliexpress. The Arduino nano is brains of this operation, with the help of an MPU6050 gyroscope helps calculate lean angle and translate them to the angle of servo, Arduino codes used in this project was available on howtomechatronics.com for free by Djen, a Mechatronic Engineer wherein the original tutorial was for a diy 3 axis gimbal but was repurpose to have a single axis headlight stabilizer. A simple functionality was was done to ensure the stabilizer was working, and indeed it was working flawlessly. The functionality test was done by power up the device, the leaning the platform from side to side simulating a motorcycle leaning and observing the light pattern not move on a wall.
