Description of Invention

The invention includes a device that saves space by functioning as a stepladder, walker, wheelchair, and Pilates chair. It can be used by elderly caregivers at foster care homes. The stepladder allows the retrieval of medical files or medications from high places, preventing the use of inappropriate tools such as stools or chairs. The stepladder function is interchangeable with walker and wheelchair functions, making the work of a caregiver efficient and convenient. The invention can be converted into a Pilates chair as an exercise alternative for elderly people wherever they may be. It is about RM 900 (two times cheaper than competitors) and at TRL3. A patent has been filed on 3 Oct 2022 (PI2022005469). The invention includes four functions; stepladder, walking aid, wheelchair, and Pilates chair. The stepladder rigidity is managed by lockable wheels at the base, and foldable support stands at the second step. The second step is made flexible for the Pilates chair by folding the support stands and using springs to create resistance for exercise purposes. The foldable support stands act as stoppers that resist the flexibility of the second step when the stepladder is needed. The handles are adjustable to accommodate different user heights for the wheelchair and wheeled walker functions. This invention can be used by both elderly people and elderly caregivers at foster care homes.
