A Study on Drivers of Malaysians to Travel Domestically during Post Covid-19 Pandemic

Description of Invention

The Covid-19 pandemic had hit hardly on the local tourism sector. Although travel ban was lifted, travelers were still concerned on the emergence of new Covid-19 variants. In ensuring resilience, revitalisation and sustainability of the local tourism sector, this study envisioned to investigate the determinants of domestic travel intention among Malaysians. An online survey was conducted among 200 respondents. Perceived benefits, willingness to support a local destination and self efficacy were found to be significant determinant of domestic travel intention. The findings provide important implications to the policy makers, tour operators and tourism businesses.
