Description of Invention
One of the main core subjects in STEM education is mathematics and one of the main concerns in education is students' mathematics performance. However, many students believe that mathematics is one of the most challenging basic courses to study. The high rate of student failure could result from this. The purpose of this research is to study the impact of conversational agent on students' performance in mathematics. This research was conducted using a quasi-experiment with 200 undergraduate students. Students were randomly assigned to a control group that was exposed to only conventional teaching or an experimental group that was exposed to both conventional teaching and conversational agent. In this study, students were given a self-designed mathematics performance test to gather their mathematics performance scores. The study revealed that the incorporation of the conversational agent significantly improves students' mathematics performance. Limitations and recommendations for future research were made in this paper too.
