Description of Invention
In this technological era, where we are witnessing immense innovations each day, it is a challenge to adapt the right kind of technology for educational purposes, especially when the students are already exposed to so many of these in an early age. While e-learning has been a part of education since many years now, a new, strong dimension is being added to it in the recent years to make the learning experience more effective. This technology is Augmented Reality (AR) and is profoundly transforming the education by overlaying rich media (3D, online content) over the real world. In this project, this technology has been used to bridge the eminent gap between the student learning & living styles and the passive teaching modes they experience, thus raising their learning interest & motivation levels. Backed by David Kolb's Experiential Learning Model (ELM) as the underlying pedagogy, an AR application was developed to help students explore the contents of a learning module and have an immersive yet reflective experiences on knowledge gained. The combination of overlaying 3D objects, various forms of media and information, in the form of inclusive activities in this application, were designed to make the overall experience interactive, engaging and motivational for the students
