Description of Invention
This study aims to investigate the role of fintech financing on SMEs; investigates government support and firm's revenue, sales and survival during the pandemic. Using semi-structured interview and SMEs as a sample in Malaysia, the results show that those who applied for fintech financing are successfully able to secure it. Malaysian government has taken various initiatives to support SME's financing needs including government programs, rescue policies and state funding. COVID-19 pandemic has adverse effect on those SMEs which have offline business or resistant to change due to nature of the business. The findings provide implication for digitalization of SMEs.
