Description of Invention
Virtual reality (VR) has been increasingly popular in recent years, infiltrating many different facets of our life. Virtual exhibits emerge as a new artefact alternative including museum artefact exhibitions. There are a few issues with the conventional museum visit. For example, visitor would not have enough time to process each information presented on each exhibit's piece and the presentation of information for artefact is outdated. In this research, a mobile-based VR prototype that introduces Melaka heritage tourism, specifically Baba & Nyonya Culture is developed. This application is beneficial in many ways: preservation of the virtual artefacts, passing down to the new generations, maintaining information and its accuracy, creating awareness and learning about the culture.
