Description of Invention

According to the World Health Organization, asthma affected an estimated 262 million people and one of the leading causes of asthma attack is due to air pollution. However, most air pollution detection tools are expensive and inaccessible to the public. This requires the asthma patient to rely on weather station data instead of their current location air quality. The asthma patient would also have to rely on their own risk assessment to determine whether it is safe or not. Therefore, an inexpensive internet of things (IoT) based air quality detector with the combination of a prediction algorithm has been proposed. The IoT device which consist of microcontrollers and sensors can serve as a method to detect the air quality near the user, while the prediction algorithm can inform the user of their current asthma attack risk based on the data collected by the IoT device.
