Description of Invention
Floods pose significant threats to communities worldwide, causing extensive damage and loss of life. Unfortunately, the frequency and severity of floods have been on the rise due to the impacts of climate change. As a result, there is a need to establish effective flood monitoring systems. LPWAN technology is a promising new approach to flood monitoring. LPWAN stands for Low-Power Wide-Area Network. It is a type of wireless network that is designed to transmit small amounts of data over long distances with low power consumption. This attribute makes LPWAN particularly well-suited for flood monitoring applications. These scenarios often involve deploying sensors in remote areas where battery life and connectivity are major considerations. This project has a flood monitoring system by leveraging the capabilities of LPWAN technology. The system itself comprised three essential components: sensor nodes, gateway nodes, and a cloud-based platform for data management and analysis.
