Description of Invention

In contrast to brick-and-mortar retailing and online shopping, digital retail aims to engage more customers, drive sales and offer unique shopping experience. Brick-and-mortar retail businesses are facing survival challenge due to the trend of online shopping which offer more discounts, better customization and personalized offer. This is especially critical when hit by COVID-19 pandemic, 1,246 businesses were closed from March 2020 to July 2021 in Malaysia. With revenue declining and e-commerce revenue continually growing, they face a significant challenge in staying competitive. ShopAssistAR is handy to enable shoppers to view detailed information about the products, video advertisement, recipes, reviews and compare similar products while shopping. ShopAssistAR has incorporated AR into physical retail environments which significantly enhance shoppers' shopping experience. It has demonstrated its capacity to enrich retail store visits with a blend of digital interaction and tactile in-store experiences, offering a fresh perspective on the shopping experience in physical retail.
