Description of Invention
Gender inequality negatively impacts women's career growth, financial stability, general well-being, workplace diversity, innovation, and organisational success. Closing the gender gap is essential for workplace fairness. This paper systematically synthesises research on factors influencing gender equality (GE) at work, identifying key barriers and enablers. Major obstacles include the glass ceiling effect, cultural and social bias, wage disparity, harassment, violence, and leadership discrimination. Conversely, legal policies, organisational culture, and family support are crucial in promoting GE. Understanding these dynamics highlights existing gaps and future research directions, fostering strategies to create more equitable and inclusive workplaces.
