Efficient waste management is vital for sustainable urban development, requiring smart technologies to optimize resources and hygiene. This study presents an IoT-enabled Smart Dustbin that automates lid operation and provides real-time waste level monitoring. Key components include ultrasonic sensors, an MG996R servo motor, Arduino UNO R3, and a Wi-Fi module for proximity sensing, waste detection, and remote data transmission. The system integrates hardware and software via the Blynk platform for mobile monitoring and control. Development involved Wokwi simulations and real-world validation, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Challenges like sensor calibration and Wi-Fi issues were addressed to enhance performance. Future improvements may include AI-driven waste classification for intelligent sorting, further advancing sustainable waste management and smart city initiatives.
