Description of Invention

The rising unemployment rate in Malaysia is often linked to job applicants’ lack of soft skills, especially oral communication, which contributes to 75% of project failures. This descriptive quantitative study examines the readiness of ELIT participants in presentation skills, analyzing differences by gender, age, and study level. Data were collected from 273 trainees using structured questionnaires via Google Forms. The study categorizes readiness into five rhetorical canons. Findings highlight the urgent need for training institutions to assess and enhance presentation skills to better equip graduates with communication competencies sought by employers and essential for workplace success.
