Mobile technology has become a cornerstone of modern education, creating new opportunities for learning and engagement. With tech-savvy Generation Z (Gen Z) students increasingly relying on mobile learning apps for their educational needs, it is crucial to understand the factors that drive their adoption and usage. This research investigates the key factors influencing Gen Z students' adoption and use of mobile learning applications, examining their impact on engagement and academic performance. By conducting a systematic literature review and semi-structured interviews, the study aims to provide insights into mobile learning adoption across various educational settings. It also presents a roadmap for developing an academic mobile learning app that effectively engages and motivates students. The research offers actionable recommendations for educators, institutions, and app developers, highlighting the importance of user-centered design in educational technology and the potential of mobile apps to enhance engagement, collaboration, and personalized learning.
