Description of Invention
A user-friendly, customized, and flexible meal planning system, called the Personalized Meal Recommendation System, is developed to enhance users’ eating habits. Many existing health applications on the market are overly complex, often failing to meet users' specific dietary needs, leading to reduced engagement. To tackle these issues, this project integrates three main components: a Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator, a personalized meal recommendation system, and a post-meal feedback mechanism. The app calculates the user's BMI and categorizes them as underweight, normal, or overweight. Based on this classification, it offers tailored meal plans to help users achieve their health objectives. Unlike generic diet apps, this system incorporates real-time user feedback on meal satisfaction and fullness, enabling continuous improvement of meal suggestions. The project is developed using the Waterfall Model, following structured phases, including requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. Pain points in existing applications were identified through user surveys, shaping a design that is simple, accessible, and effective.
